Obedience
World Cup an der CRUFTS

Am Obedience World Cup werden 7 Übungen
verlangt, diese sind eine Mischung aus FCI und UK-Obedience. Sie werden nach
UK-Richtlinien gerichtet.
1.
Heelwork

Normal, slow and fast pace-
may include left/right/about turns, figures of eight, weaving poles/markers
and circles. Also multiple or combination turns e.g. double left about turn
or left about turn-left lurn. The dog
must be off the lead throughout this test. One command by word or signal is
permitted, any extra commands and signals will be penalised. The dog should
be sitting straight at the handler's side. On command the handler should
wald briskly forward in a straight line with the dog at heel. The dog's
shoulder should be approximately level with and reasonably close to the
handler's leg at all times when the handler is walking. On the command to
turn, the handler should turn smartly in the direction indicated and the dog
should keep ists position at the handler's side. Turning manoeuvres will not
be couöled together. The handler and dog must be allowed several paces if
required to turn again. On the command "Halt" the handler should halt
immediately, and the dog should sit straight at the handler's side.
Throughout the test the handler may not touch the dog without penalty.
Turning manoeuvres. Figures of eight and/or
weaving between poles/markers may be introduced at slow and/or normal pace.
Circles may also be included at any pace, but the judge will ensure that all
breeds entered in the competition can satisvactorily accomplish such
manoevres. Hellwork patterns may also include multiple or combination turns
at normal and/or slow pace. Once started, each turn will continue in the
same direction and will not exceed a total of 360 degrees. For example, a
"double left about turn" or a "left about turn-left turn" is permitted but a
"left about turn-right turn" or an "about turn-left turn" is not. |
2.
Retrieve a dumbbell over a
hurdle (Apportieren über eine Hürde)

Wooden dumbbell suplied,
hurdle set at 2ft (or lower dependent on height of dog).
At the start of this excercise the dog shouldbe sitting at the handler's
side. The handler will be requested to throw the dumbbell over the hurdle.
The handler will then be requested to send the dog to retrieve the dumbbell.
The dog should move out promtly at a smart pace to collect the dumbbell. In
retrieving the dumbbell the dog should jump the hurdle on the outward and
return leg of the exercise. The dog should present the dumbbell to the
handler and finish.

3.
Directed retrieve (Drei Apportel
werden ausgelegt) |

Three wooden dumbbells set out in a straight line. The line to be between 2
m to 6 m long. The judge will indicate to the handler which dumbbell their
dog is to retrieve (this may vary from dog to dog). The handlers will be
requested to send their dogs to retrieve the dumbbell and to present it to
the handler and finish.
The minimum distance between the dog and handler and the line of dumbbells
will be 6 m.

4.
Distance control

Dog to be left in sit position not less than 10 paces from the handler, dog
recalled to handler at halfway point, indicated by a marker, the dog to be
stopped in either sit, down or stand position (same position for each dog)
selected at the judge's discretion. Four instructions to be given in the
same order for each dog. The handler will then return to the dog.
Excessive movement i.e. more than the body length of the dog, in any
direction by the dog, having regards to its size, will be penalised. The dog
shall start the control part of this excercise with it's front feet behind a
designated point, which will be indicated by a marker, placed by a steward.
No penalty for excessive movement in a forward direction shall be imposed
until the back feet of the dog pass the designated point.

5.
Sit stay (Sitz bleib 2 Minuten)

Handler out of sight.
The Judge or Steward will direct handlers to positions in the ring. The
command "lanst command" will be given and handlers should then instantly
give their final command to their dogs. Any further commands or signals to
the dogs after this "last command" will be penalised. Handlers will then be
instructed to leave their dogs and walk to positions indicated until ordered
to return to them. These are group tests and all dogs must compete together.

6.
Scent discrimination

The handler shent on a marked
cloth supplied by the Judge. There will be a minimum of 6 and up to a
maximum of 10 scent clotzs, the total must include one decoy cloth, and the
cloth provided by the Judge. The pattern of cloths is at the Judge's
discretion.
The method of taking scent is at the handler's descretion. The decoy
stewards will not handle a cloth for longer than the handler. At the
commencement of the test the dog must be brought to a designated point. The
dog must be facing away from the cloths whilst scent/decoy clotzs are placed
in position by asteward. These will be between at least 1 m and not more
than 1,6 m apart. When the cloths have been placed, the handler will give
the dog scent, stand up straight and send the dog on command from the judge
or steward to find the correct cloth. The dog, on finding the correct clotz,
must then complete the Test as for the Retrieve Test.
A time limit for this test will be at the judge's discretion.

7.
Send away and recall
(Voransenden mit abrufen)

On command o the Judge the handler to bring the dog to the place indicated,
set up the dog and stand upright. On further command, the handler will send
the dog in the direction indicated by the Judge. After the dog has been
commanded to sit or down, at the handler's discretion, the handler will call
the dog to heel whilst walking where directed by the Judge. Both will then
continue forward until ordered to halt.

METHOD OF HANDLING
The dog should work in a happy and natural
manner, but should not impede the handler and prime consideration will be given
to judging the dog and handler as a team.
In all excercises the left side of the handler will be regarded as the "working
side".
COMMANDS
All commands to the handler will be given in English.
Instructions and commands given to handlers will made either by the Judge or by
delegation to a Steward. During heelwork the Caller Steward will give the
commands.
To signal the completion of each Test the handler will be given the command
"Test finished".
The handler may use the dog's name with a command or signal without penalty.

Die Reihenfolge der Uebungen kann von Jahr zu
Jahr ändern, aber als Krönung des World Cups wird das Identifizieren mit
allen Hunden als separate Übung gezeigt.
Was war das eindrücklichste Erlebnis an der
Crufts? - Die Engländer! Sie kamen zu uns und bedankten sich, dass wir so weit
gefahren sind und am World Cup teilgenommen haben!
Sie sagten nicht, der Hund hat das oder das nicht
gut gemacht - so wie bei uns - sie freuten sich mit uns über die Übungen,
welche die Hunde gut gemacht haben!!!
